While the move has worked out perfectly for the Flyers, it has also paid major dividends for a Kings’ team that also advanced to the second round of the playoffs after knocking off the defending Western conference champion Vancouver Canucks in five games. Both teams feel they have a legitimate shot at reaching the Stanley Cup finals, and what an incredible betting end that would be.

That deal that sent Richards to the Kings in the summer isn’t the big storyline of these playoffs. The players in that deal are all playing hard to prove that their team got the better side of the trade, but how about the team playing hard to avoid being relocated to another city altogether? The Phoenix Coyotes have opened their conference semi final series against the Nashville Predators with consecutive wins, and they are doing it in style with overtime dominating the headlines in the desert.
