The Dallas Stars looked like Cup contenders entering this season. Then, after injuries to Brenden Morrow and Sergei Zubov plus the Sean Avery fiasco, they became afterthoughts in Texas. Can you blame Dallas citizens? After all, they have the NBA and March Madness betting to focus on.

But wait! Little do most NHL betting fans know…the Stars are…very quietly….BACK. How are they doing it? Is it Louis Eriksson’s surprising offense? Brad Richards’ resurgence? Sort of. But the real reason why online betting fans can pick Dallas at the sportsbook again: 1, 3, 2, 0, 1 — the goals allowed during the Stars’ current five-game winning streak. Yep, Marty Turco has found himself.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to those who bet on hockey if they know the numbers. Turco has a 2.79 career GAA in October and nothing higher than 2.35 in any other month (including 2.11 or lower in December, February, March and April).

Now it makes more sense that Dallas is 7-1-2 in its last 10, doesn’t it?
